Crash Bandicoot: On the Run is coming to mobile ‘soon’
Activision releases first trailer for the new game from Candy Crush maker King
Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! has been announced as “coming soon” for iOS and Android devices.
The game, which appears to be an endless runner starring Crash and his sister Coco, is developed by Activision-owned Candy Crush maker King.
According to the official blurb, it features “high-speed battle runs across Wumpa Island to save the multiverse from the evil Dr. Neo Cortex; smash crates, avoid obstacles and run into your favorite characters… Not to mention battling your favorite Crash bosses, earning rewards, base building and weapon crafting – all with a customizable Crash!”
Players can pre-register now to get an exclusive skin at launch.
Activision revealed Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time with an announcement trailer in June.
The Toys For Bob-developed game will release on October 2 for Xbox One and PS4, while an Xbox Series X version has also been confirmed to be in development.
Narratively, the sequel connects to the original Crash trilogy developed by Naughty Dog, its developer said, and offers “dense and focused” platforming gameplay evocative of those games.
2017’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, a remastered compilation of the first three Crash games developed by Vicarious Visions (Toys for Bob handled the Switch port), has sold over 10 million copies according to Activision.
