Confusion arises over whether Modern Warfare 3 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One
UPDATE: Activision confirms last-gen versions

Confusion is arising among players as to whether Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming to last-gen consoles.
As spotted on Twitter by YouTuber TheGamingRevolution, the official Xbox page for Modern Warfare III only lists Xbox Series X/S as the game’s planned platforms.
However, TheGamingRevolution also notes that the official PlayStation YouTube account has posted the Modern Warfare 3 teaser trailer with “PS5 & PS4 Games” in the headline. The video also includes the hashtags #ps5, #ps5games, #ps4 and #ps4games.
Update
The Xbox store page has since been updated to include Xbox One.
There are three potential reasons for the discrepancy. The PlayStation YouTube Channel puts either “PS5 Games” or “PS5 & PS4 Games” in all its trailer headlines, so it could be that the employee responsible for naming the videos made an error and included PS4 when the game isn’t coming to that format.
Another possibility is that the game is indeed coming to last-gen systems, and that the Xbox page is therefore at fault.
The third possible reason is that both sites may, in fact, be accurate, and the game may be coming to PS4 but not Xbox One.
The situation will potentially be clarified on August 17, when Activision plans its “worldwide reveal” of Modern Warfare 3.
Activision finally officially announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Monday, following a series of leaks. The game will be released on November 10.
Activision says players will be able to carry over most of their collected Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 content to Modern Warfare 3.
