The first details on EA’s community testing plans for the next Battlefield game have seemingly leaked ahead of an imminent announcement.
On Sunday, the publisher told fans to tune in on Monday, February 3 at 5pm CET / 8am PDT for information about the upcoming Battlefield community testing program.
According to a Reddit user, details about the program were added to Battlefield 4 in-game ahead of schedule.
Update
EA has shared the first pre-alpha gameplay footage of the next Battlefield game, alongside details of a new community testing program, which players can register for now.
“Battlefield Labs Is a new exclusive testing environment connecting a selected number of players directly with our developers,” read a message when they booted up the game.
“You’ll test while providing us with crucial feedback in order to make the best Battlefield possible.
“We’re kicking things off with players in Europe and North America, before looking to expand in the future. While spaces are limited, we encourage everyone to sign up.”

The next Battlefield game has been in production at multiple internal studios for several years. EA revealed the first details on the new Battlefield late last year, alongside confirmation it would hold community testing in 2025.
“We’re building a connected universe set in the modern day, for players filled with Battlefield experiences, all of them built with our unique DNA,” Byron Beede, group general manager for Battlefield, said at the time.
“I also want to share with you that internally, we’ve been playing the game nearly daily for well over a year. In addition to internal testing cycles, we’re already testing with players, and we plan to introduce a new large-scale, community-driven testing programme early next year.”
