CoD Warzone looks set to add Duos, as fans react negatively to Trios removal

A two-person Duos playlist looks set to be added to Call of Duty: Warzone during the game’s third Season.

That’s according to an image which briefly appeared on the game’s website, seemingly confirming Duos will be introduced during Season 3’s eight weeks (it ends on June 2).

Developer Infinity Ward teased the addition of further game modes and playlists in its initial announcement for Season 3.

A recent datamine also suggested Duos could arrive during Season 3, while Infinity Ward co-studio head Patrick Kelly has previously said the developer has playtested five-player squads.

The addition of Duos could alleviate fan backlash to the removal of the game’s Trios squads. Trios were replaced with Quads during Season 3, while the existing Solos setup remains.

Update, April 10: Call of Duty Warzone has reintroduced a Trios playlist.

Original story continues: No official explanation was given for the removal of the Trios playlist – it wasn’t mentioned in Season 3’s patch notes – and it’s been received negatively by some of the game’s community, according to the top threads on the game’s subreddit.

Warzone launched with two 150-player game modes, Battle Royale and Plunder, although Infinity Ward has said it will support 200-player matches in the future, and that it’s working on new game modes.

Warzone’s Season 3 update also increased the price of Loadout Drops from the Buy Station, from $8,500 to $10,000, while adding new vehicle skins and weapons, among other features.

Modern Warfare Season 3 introduced new multiplayer maps Talsik Backlot, Hovec Sawmill and Aniyah Incursion, while Hardhat will be added mid-season.

Warzone attracted over 30 million players in 10 days following its March 10 release, according to publisher Activision.
