Ciri has been recast in The Witcher 4
Ciara Berkeley has been cast as Ciri in The Witcher 4, replacing the character’s previous actor
Ciri has been recast in The Witcher 4, CD Projekt has confirmed.
On Thursday, the studio premiered the first trailer for The Witcher 4, its forthcoming RPG. The trailer, which confirmed that Ciri will be the game’s main character, also led fans to believe that the character’s voice actor had been replaced.
Now, CD Projekt has confirmed to TheGamer that Ciara Berkeley will play Ciri in The Witcher 4, not the character’s original actor, Jo Wyatt.
“Ciara Berkeley was cast as Ciri for The Witcher IV Cinematic Reveal Trailer,” the studio said in a statement.
“Ciara is a talented actress who impressed us with her enthusiasm and vocal acting skills, and in this trailer we believe she truly brought Ciri to life in a way that is both faithful to the character and exciting for fans of the series.”
CD Projekt confirmed last month that The Witcher 4 had started full production.
Game director Sebastian Kalemba also said in a post on X: “I’m thrilled to announce that Project Polaris has entered the full-scale production phase!
“With new challenges just around the corner, it’s the talented and hard-working people who make me believe we can together make the upcoming Witcher Saga a remarkable experience.
“No stopping now! Stay tuned for what’s on the other side of the coin!”
It was announced in 2022 that Kalemba had been appointed to direct the new Witcher saga, which has been confirmed to be a trilogy of games.
He joined the Polish studio in October 2014 and initially served as lead animator for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, before being promoted to head of animation for the whole company.
