China-inspired melee combat game, Naraka premieres at Game Awards
“Eastern influences meet western style” in online combat title
Chinese developer 24 Entertainment has premiered online combat game Naraka: Bladepoint at The Game Awards.
Due for release in 2020, Naraka is described as a close-quarters multiplayer title in which “eastern influences meet western style.”
Naraka is set in the mysterious Eastern realm of Morus and features a “boundless” movement system that allows players to climb, hang, and parkour.
Gameplay also involves an “aim-at-whatever-you-want” grappling hook and a “sophisticated yet beginner-friendly” combat system involving block & parry mechanics, according to its developer.
The title is said to have a development team comprised of experienced individuals from across the world, according to 24.
“In Naraka: Bladepoint, players will feel every attack and utilise everything in their skillset and armoury to achieve victory,” said Ray, Producer, in a prepared statement.
“Our teams have created something visually stunning and instantly appealing to fans of multiplayer online combat, and we can’t wait to share more details on Naraka: Bladepoint in early in 2020.”
