CD Projekt to reveal ‘what’s next for Cyberpunk 2077’ in an upcoming live stream
Presentation next week will also offer a look at Netflix’s Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime series
CD Projekt has said it plans to reveal what’s next for Cyberpunk 2077 during a live stream on September 6.
The “special episode” of its Night City Wire live stream will take place next Tuesday at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST.
It will also include new information on Netflix’s upcoming Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime series.
CD Projekt claimed in April that Cyberpunk 2077 had sold over 18 million copies since its December 2020 release.
It also said it’s working on a major Cyberpunk 2077 expansion featuring a new storyline.
Hundreds of lines of dialogue reportedly from Cyberpunk 2077‘s first expansion appeared online in May, seemingly outlining the entire plot of the DLC’s questline.
Netflix confirmed this week that Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which is animated by Studio Trigger, will be released on September 13.
According to Netflix’s official blurb: “The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City — a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future.
“Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.”
CD Projekt will be holding free, ticketed pre-premiere screenings of the first two episodes of Cyberpunk Edgerunners at PAX West in Seattle this Sunday.
CD Projekt is planning to release an updated version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in the fourth quarter of 2022.
The studio also announced in March that the next entry in the Witcher series is in development. It said the game will kick off “a new saga” for the franchise.
