Castle Crashers to release on Switch ahead of PS4
Classic brawler to feature improved graphics and gameplay
The Behemoth’s co-op brawler, Castle Crashers Remastered will release for Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2019, followed by PS4 at a later date.
Castle Crashers originally released in 2008 for Xbox 360, followed by PlayStation 3 and PC a few years later.
The Remastered version will retail for $14.99 USD and feature five times larger textures, 60fps gameplay, all previously released downloadable content and “various performance updates and improvements to gameplay and online multiplayer.”
The Switch version features HD Rumble and up to 4-player local Joy-Con support so players can use their Joy-Cons “in any configuration” to play with friends online.
The PlayStation 4 version of the game is still going through its final approval processes, Behemoth said, which is why it’s not yet confirming an exact launch date.
“We’re thrilled to finally be bringing a new way to play Castle Crashers to the world, and we’re dedicated to making even more brain-melting, eyeball-exploding video game experiences in the future,” the game’s developer said.
