Capcom wants to know which Resident Evil remake fans want next
Company survey is quizzing fans on the future of the series
Capcom has published a new survey that asks players which Resident Evil remake they’d like to see next.
The survey, which largely asks players about Resident Evil‘s various social media channels and how much players engage with them, ends by asking players “if there are any other Resident Evil games (they) want remade.”
In the last few years, Capcom has remade Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4, all of which were warmly received by critics and fans, leading many to ask for other entries in the series to be remade, including the large number of spin-offs in the franchise.
While the remakes have largely been faithful, some fans did raise concerns following the release of the Resident Evil 3 remake that some of the content was changed in the new release of the game.
Resident Evil 4‘s remake was largely authentic, although some sections were streamlined and some mechanics, such as the quick-time events, were removed.
The Resident Evil franchise is a cornerstone of Capcom’s recent success, which has seen the company report the highest number of sold games in its history during recent financial reports.
This was buoyed by the success of franchises like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry. Last week’s release of Street Fighter 6 will likely continue this trend.
Capcom‘s president recently said the company aims to sell 10 million copies of Street Fighter 6, which would break the series record of 7 million met by Street Fighter V.
