Capcom ‘to announce new game in December’
Japanese expo suggests new Capcom titles are on the way
Capcom will announce a new game in December, listings for a Japanese games expo suggest.
According to a Gematsu translation of Capcom’s Jump Festa 2020 exhibit plans, the Resident Evil publisher will showcase four titles at the event, with two known to be Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
The recently announced Japanese Devil Mary Cry collection could potentially take up one of the unannounced slots, leaving at least one other unknown.
Jump Festa 2020 will run from December 21 to 22 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
According to a recent report, Capcom is preparing to announced a remake of Resident Evil 3, following the critical and commercial success of 2019’s Resident Evil 2.
Resident Evil 2 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has previously indicated Capcom would consider further Resident Evil remakes if fans “voice their enthusiasm” for them.
One key pillar for games marketing remains in 2019, the Los Angeles-based Game Awards, which are due to take place on Friday, December 13.
The Game Awards typically sees the announcement of several new titles each year, however Capcom has not actively used the event for marketing in recent years.
