Capcom is teasing ‘big news’ for a Street Fighter 6 showcase next week
The 30-minute digital event will be hosted by rapper Lil Wayne
Capcom has announced plans to hold a Street Fighter 6 showcase next week featuring some special announcements.
Airing on Thursday, April 20 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST, the the 30-minute digital event will be hosted by rapper Lil Wayne, who’ll be joined by developers to deliver some “big announcements”.
“Not only will there will be details on World Tour, Battle Hub, and Fighting Ground, but there will also be some big news at the end of the show,” Capcom teased.
Street Fighter 6 will be released on June 2 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Steam, with a launch roster of 18 characters.
One of its more notable new features is World Tour mode, which will let players create their own character, explore a series of open-world areas and learn moves from existing Street Fighter warriors.
A Deluxe Edition of the game will include four additional characters, four extra characters’ colours and 4,200 Drive Tickets, which can be used to customise fighters via an in-game store.
The Ultimate Edition also adds a further eight characters’ outfits, two more stages, and an extra 3,500 Drive Tickets.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Legendary Entertainment had acquired the film and TV rights to the Street Fighter series.
Capcom subsequently confirmed that it is co-producing a live-action Street Fighter movie with the Dune and Godzilla vs. Kong production company.
