Capcom confirms Monster Hunter Stories 2 date and return for Rise demo

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will release for Nintendo Switch on July 9, Capcom has announced.
The publisher shared the news during a live stream on Monday (embedded above), along with confirmation of a Deluxe Edition version of the game, which will come with special armour, sticker sets and outfirst for character Navirou.
Monster Hunter Stories 2, which is described as “a rich RPG story”, is the follow-up to 2016’s Nintendo 3DS title which was also turned into a TV animation series.
Wings of Ruin puts players in the role of a Monster Rider who befriends iconic creatures from the Monster Hunter series as they embark on adventures together.
Players with save data from this month’s Monster Hunter Rise will unlock the special Kamura Garb armour in Stories 2, which is based on the hero from Rise.
Finally, Capcom announced three Monster Hunter Stories 2 Amiibo figures, which are set to be release alongside the game.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Rise were announced during a special Monster Hunter Direct presentation on Nintendo‘s YouTube channel last September.
Rise is the sixth main entry in the Monster Hunter series, and will be released on the Switch on 26 March. Capcom will release three amiibo alongside that game, which will let players unlock special layered armour.
On Monday, Capcom confirmed the Monster Hunter Rise demo will return to the Nintendo eShop on March 11, with a new quest in which players take on the monster Magnamalo.
Nintendo has announced a special edition Monster Hunter Rise Switch console, set to release alongside the new game on March 26.
