Capcom announces a 10-game Fighting Collection anthology
Includes titles never before released in the west or ported to home systems
Capcom has announced a new retro compilation called Capcom Fighting Collection.
The new compilation will include 10 retro one-on-one fighting games, including all five arcade games in the Darkstalker series.
This includes Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2, neither of which have ever been released outside of Japan.
Both titles were updated versions of Vampire Hunter that shuffled around the character rosters and backgrounds.
The collection also includes Red Earth, a fantasy-themed fighting game that has never been released outside of arcades.
The full list of titles is as follows:
- Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
- Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
- Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire
- Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
- Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire
- Red Earth
- Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness
- Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Hyper Street Fighter II
All ten games in the compilation will include online play and rollback netcode, with Ranked, Casual and Custom match types.
The game will include what Capcom describes as a “treasure trove” of art and music, with official art, concept art and design documents.
It will also include more than 400 music tracks spanning all ten games.
Capcom Fighting Collection will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC on June 24.
Capcom previously released the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection in 2018, which included 10 Street Fighter games.
This was developed by retro specialists Digital Eclipse, but it appears that Capcom Fighting Collection is being handled by a different team.
When asked if Digital Eclipse was handling the compilation, studio head Mike Mika stated on Twitter: “It’s not us, but looks super cool.”
