Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 content, Battle Pass and more detailed
Mini Royale mode, loot refresh and more
Activision has fully detailed Call of Duty Warzone’s Season 5 update, including confirmation of map changes, new modes and a “mid-season event.”
The first significant change to the Verdansk map is the opening of Stadium, which includes a pitch surrounded by rows of seating, an additional underground parking structure, a concession stand lobby as well as other multiple interior concourses.
In addition, Verdansk Train Station is also opening its interior with a number of inside locations to explore, and a freight train will now orbit the game map. Finally, zip lines have been added to various tall buildings, allowing players to quickly reach their summits.
Developer Infinity Ward claims it’s “meticulously updated” the loot available during matches, with eight Common, 13 Uncommon, 15 Rare, 19 Epic, and 25 Legendary variants to find throughout Verdansk.
The Season Five Battle Pass includes two new weapons: the ISO SMG (Tier 15) and the AN-94 assault rifle (Tier 31), which can also be unlocked for free by playing the game.
A new operator, Lerch, is included in the Battle Pass, while Velikan and Morte will drop during the Season.
Mini Royale is a new game mode which lowers the number of Operators but quickens the battle royale experience: Only the first and last five minutes of a normal BR game exist, leading to frantic battles.
Season 5’s road map also makes mention of a “mid-season event,” which could be related to the announcement of the next Call of Duty game.
Finally, Wartracks have been added to Season 5’s Battle Pass. Those who purchase the Pass will receive three unique songs which can be equipped to a specific vehicle and automatically played as you drive.
The Season 5 update will go live on Wednesday, August 5 at 11pm PT / 7am BST and weigh in at around 34GB on PlayStation 4 and 50GB on Xbox One and PC. Activision is currently allowing PlayStation 4 players to pre-load the patch.
