Call of Duty Warzone adds new guns and character today
Plus Endowment Defender Pack returns for purchase
Call of Duty Warzone will add new weapons and an Operator in Tuesday’s content update.
Set for deployment at 11pm PT (6am GMT), the March 24 update will add four new weapons to battle royale; the 725, MK2 Carbine, .50 GS, and EBR-14, each of which will be available in both Common and Uncommon rarities.
UPDATE: The Call of Duty Warzone update has suffered a last minute delay.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: A new Operator, Talon, will also be added to Warzone and Modern Warfare. Talon will be available to purchase as part of a bundle which also includes Talon’s Finishing Move and two Legendary weapon blueprints and tier skips.
Also returning to the store is the Call of Duty Endowment Defender Pack. The Defender Pack supports the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organisation that helps veterans find high-quality jobs.
Call of Duty: Warzone features unified progression with Modern Warfare’s Battle Pass and shares the same Item Shop.
Warzone has attracted over 30 million players in the 10 days since its release, according to publisher Activision.
The free-to-play title, which launched on March 10, reached approximately six million players in 24 hours and 15 million players in three days.
By way of comparison, fellow free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends, which released in February 2019, attracted approximately 2.5 million players in 24 hours, 10 million players in three days, and 25 million in one week, according to developer Respawn.
Warzone launched with two 150-player game modes, Battle Royale and Plunder, although developer Infinity Ward has said it will support 200-player matches in the future, and that it’s working on new game modes.
The latest Call of Duty Warzone update introduced a Solos option for the game’s Battle Royale mode.
