Call of Duty Vanguard campaign gameplay reveal shows the Battle of Stalingrad
Players take on the role of Russian Polina
Activision has revealed the first Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign gameplay.
Developer Sledgehammer Games showed off the game on Thursday during Gamescom Opening Night Live.
The gameplay video below takes place from the perspective of Russian character Polina, who’s played by actress Laura Bailey.
The level is set in Stalingrad and shows Polina’s experience as the city is invaded by the Nazis.
Call of Duty: Vanguard was announced last week for release on consoles and PC on November 5, 2021.
A PlayStation-exclusive Call of Duty: Vanguard alpha test will begin on August 27 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST and run for 48 hours.
Participants will be able to try out Vanguard’s new Champion Hill mode, which has previously been described as ‘Gunfight Battle Royale’.
Champion Hill is a progression of the small squad multiplayer mode Gunfight introduced with 2019’s Modern Warfare, now extended to a large map split into sections, with multiple teams battling to be the last squad standing.
