UPDATE: Activision has acknowledged the apparent leak
Further evidence that this year’s Call of Duty game will be Modern Warfare 3 has seemingly leaked.
The images below, via Twitter user @algebra_sloth, appear to show an upcoming Modern Warfare 3 and Monster Energy drinks promotion.
The apparent promotional material includes artwork featuring the game’s logo, protagonist Captain Price, and what some fans are suggesting looks like series villain Vladimir Makarov.
Update
The official Call of Duty Twitter account has acknowledged the apparent leak, tweeting: “Whew. Mondays. Anyone have an energy drink they can spare?”

Call of Duty 2023 is reportedly a continuation of last year’s Modern Warfare 2, with development being led by Sledgehammer Games.
Activision seemingly confirmed this last week when it said that Modern Warfare 2 operators, weapons and bundles will carry forward into this year’s series entry, which has yet to be officially revealed.
Maps and modes from Modern Warfare 2 will also be carried over to the new title, it has been claimed.
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III” was reportedly referenced in DMCA takedown notices Activision sent to Twitter users sharing leaked images of the game online earlier this month.
Activision claimed last week that “development of this year’s full annual premium [Call of Duty] release on PC and console is proceeding well.”
It also said the first details about the reveal event for the game will arrive in the company’s announcement of Season 5 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, which is expected to launch in early August.
