Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will add Hardcore mode next month
Infinity Ward confirms another Season 2 feature ahead of next month’s launch
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will add the fan-favourite Hardcore mode with Season 2 next month, developer Infinity Ward has confirmed.
As its name suggests, Hardcore mode is designed for players looking for a challenging multiplayer experience with the game HUD disabled and extremely fast time-to-kill.
Infinity Ward recently delayed the launch of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 until mid-February.
“Season 2 includes all new content, with the return of Resurgence and a brand new small map for Warzone 2.0,” the developer recently said.
“Ranked play is also back and coming to Modern Warfare 2, along with new multiplayer maps, new modes, weapons and much more.”
More details on Season 2 are expected to be shared via a deep-dive studio blog later this week, including “exciting changes” to Warzone 2.0 related to the gulag, looting and loadouts.
Details and artwork for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 seemingly leaked in December.
Season 2 will reportedly feature the multiplayer map Castle, which was originally included in Call of Duty World at War and was also remastered for last year’s Call of Duty Vanguard.
Ranked Play will deliver competitive modes, ranked skill divisions, visible skill ratings, a top 250 leaderboard, and rewards for top players.
