Call of Duty Mobile Season 8 launches with Highrise map and Juggernaut mode
New post-apocalyptic season, The Forge, available now
Activision has launched Call of Duty Mobile Season 8, The Forge.
Key features of the new season include multiplayer map Highrise and multiplayer mode Juggernaut.
Set atop a skyscraper with office buildings on opposite sides of the map, Highrise originally appeared in 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Multiplayer mode Juggernaut, which previously featured in 2011’s Modern Warfare 3, sees five players attempting to take down and become the Juggernaut.
Activision says the new post-apocalyptic season features characters, items, and events focused around surviving in the wasteland.
The free version of the latest Battle Pass includes a new perk (Shrapnel) at tier 14 and a new weapon (DR-H – Common) at tier 21.
The Highrise multiplayer map is also reportedly coming to 2019’s Modern Warfare, possibly as part of Season 5.
Scheduled for early August, the Season 5 update will also introduce significant map changes for Call of Duty Warzone, VGC understands.
The changes include a revamp of the game’s large football stadium to include an open interior, and the addition of a loot-filled train which will continuously circle the game map.
The additions are part of an effort to bring Warzone’s Verdansk game map more in line with the next Call of Duty title, which will be set during the Cold War.
For over a month now the battle royale title has been playing out a meta-game, which sources indicate will conclude with the unveiling of the next ‘premium’ Call of Duty game, Black Ops: Cold War.
