Call of Duty Mobile ‘playable on PC’
Android emulator GameLoop promises mouse and keyboard controls
Call of Duty: Mobile is reportedly playable on PC via Android emulator GameLoop.
The free-to-play shooter launched on Tuesday in all countries where the App Store and Google Play are supported with the exceptions of mainland China, Vietnam and Belgium.
And Android emulator GameLoop claims: “Playing CODM on GameLoop allows you to breakthrough the limitation of phones with bigger screen to achieve wider field of view, mouse and keyboard to ensure precise aiming and shooting.
“More importantly, exclusive key mapping and in-depth adaption will bring you the most immersive and wonderful experience of Call of Duty: Mobile.”
According to PC Gamer, PUBG Mobile servers detect players using an emulator and match them against other players doing so, although whether this is the case with Call of Duty: Mobile isn’t clear.
Call of Duty: Mobile will reportedly also be playable using Xbox One and PS4 controllers.
[Update, October 3: Call of Duty Mobile’s brief controller support was a test for “a portion” of live players, Activision has said. However, controller support may be reactivated in the future in the form of separate game lobbies.
Update, October 13: Activision says it hears calls from the Call of Duty: Mobile community to introduce controller support for the game “loud and clear” and is currently testing the feature ahead of its possible introduction.]
Original story continues: Developed by Tencent’s Timi studio, the new game brings together maps, modes, weapons and characters from across the franchise, including the Black Ops and Modern Warfare series.
Call of Duty: Mobile’s battle royale mode shares similarities with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout but is billed as a “unique take on the genre, custom-built for mobile with Call of Duty’s signature gameplay”.
