Call of Duty is getting a Squid Game crossover in January
Black Ops 6 and Warzone will crossover with Netflix’s Squid Game soon
Activision has started teasing a Squid Game crossover for Call of Duty.
Netflix’s most popular show ever will be coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone in January, according to a teaser trailer which is viewable above.
The crossover is timed to follow the release of Squid Game Season 2, which premieres on Netflix on December 26.
Before then, Netflix plans to release Squid Game Unleashed for iOS and Android devices on December 17.
Developed by internal studio Boss Fight Entertainment, it’s a multiplayer “party royale” game that will be available exclusively via the Netflix app.
“Like the hit dystopian thriller series it’s named after, Squid Game: Unleashed takes classic children’s games and puts a dark spin on them,” according to Netflix.
“Team up with friends or compete against up to 32 players for the ultimate prize: survival. You’ll earn money along the way to customize your avatar and advance through tougher and tougher challenges as you make your way up the tournament ranks.”
Black Ops 6 is the “biggest Call of Duty ever” based on player engagement during its first 30 days, Activision claimed last week.
It attracted more players during its launch month than any other Call of Duty title, and also ranked first for the total number of hours played and the most matches played.
The game was released in late October for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. Notably, it was the first Call of Duty to be available on Game Pass on day one.
