California-based developers are telling staff to get to safety in wake of LA fires
Game studios are being impacted by LA’s wildfire crisis
Riot has told its California-based staff to focus on looking after themselves during Los Angeles’ current wildfire crisis.
Currently, much of Los Angeles is being affected by wildfires, with neighborhoods such as Pacific Palisades being devastated in a matter of hours. Now, Riot CEO A.Dylan Jadeja has posted to LinkedIn to reassure staff to take care of themselves and that “the mission and the work will always be there.”
“What can be said now to those around Los Angeles is to please take care; please follow the guidance of the local authorities and take the appropriate precautions to be safe. And while I don’t have the right words by any extent, I do have hope and belief. Belief in the courage of our communities; belief in the strength of Angelenos. With certainty, I can say Los Angeles will rise from this moment — stronger, together.
VGC has been told by members of staff at Santa Monica-based Naughty Dog who wish to remain anonymous that plans are in motion for workers to leave should they need to, however, the fire isn’t currently expected to reach that far south.
“It takes a village to do what we do and we are all in this moment together,” Jadeja continued. “For those in our offices around the world who have been reaching out, your support has been incredible — we’re reminded once again how strong a team Riot truly is.”
