C-Smash VRS is coming to Meta Quest and Pico
The PlayStation VR2 game is making the jump to new platforms in April
Futuristic sports game C-Smash VRS will be released for Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3 and Pico 4 headsets on April 4, 2024.
A reimagining of Sega‘s arcade and Dreamcast classic Cosmic Smash, the game was originally released for PlayStation VR2 in June 2023.
Combining sport and puzzle gameplay, it features original tracks by Japanese DJ Ken Ishii (Rez Infinite) and synthesiser player and record producer Danalogue (front man of The Comet is Coming and Soccer 96).
The title is developed by British VR specialist Wolf & Wood (The Last Worker, The Exorcist: Legion VR, A Chair in a Room: Greenwater, Hotel R’n’R) and published by RapidEyeMovers, a new London-based production studio.
“C-Smash VR is engaging, exhausting and exhilarating,” according to VGC’s review. “A VR staple that we’ll be showing friends for years, it nails the aesthetics, gameplay, and most importantly, the vibe of everything that’s great about VR.”
A free C-Smash VRS update released last September added new modes, levels, co-op and an emotes system to the game, among other features.
C-Smash VRS will be adding cross-platform global leaderboards, with cross-platform multiplayer also on the future roadmap.
