Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons coming to Switch
Nintendo version to feature new two-player mode
Critically-acclaimed adventure game, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is coming to Nintendo Switch.
505 Games announced on Tuesday that the Switch version will release on May 28 and introduce an all-new two-player mode.
The game, which was created in collaboration between Starbreeze and Swedish film director Josef Fares, was first released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2013 (and later Xbox One and PS4).
It has players control both brothers at once as they set out on a journey to find and bring back the ‘Water of Life’ to save their dying father.
Brothers won the award for Best Innovation at the 2014 BAFTA Video Game Awards.
In 2015 Starbreeze sold the rights for Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons to 505 Games for $500,000 and said the title would be “best nurtured under a new owner.”
Ian Howe, president of 505 Games, said at the time: “Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a remarkable game, one of the most affecting games of the last generation and one of which 505 Games has been very proud to be associated.”
