Update: Xbox Mil Grau Channel permanently suspended from YouTube Partner Program

Brazilian streamer targeted by Xbox has now been banned by Twitch

Twitch has banned popular Brazilian content creator Mil Grau following reports that he used his social media channels to air discriminatory views.

Mil Grau confirmed the Twitch ban in a statement posted on Twitter (and translated by ResetEra)

The content creator is also in the process of removing Xbox branding from various social media profiles and channels at Microsoft’s request.

[UPDATE JUNE 5: The Xbox Mil Grau Channel has been permanently suspended from the YouTube Partner Program.

“With user complaints, we are aware of content on the XBOX Mil Grau Channel that violates our policies,” YouTube said. “The videos have been removed and the channel is permanently suspended from the YouTube Partner Program.

“We thank everyone who alerted us and reinforce our rejection of all forms of prejudice.”]

Original story continues: Mil Grau has previously used his social media channels to promote racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic material.

This was recently flagged to companies including Twitch and Xbox, with the latter publicly distancing itself from Mil Grau and his behaviour earlier this week.

Xbox Brazil tweeted (via Google translate) on Wednesday: “The content of the Mil Grau account does not reflect our fundamental values of respect, diversity and inclusion. We already demand the immediate removal of our brand from its channels, through social media companies.”

For his part, Mil Grau denies the accusations levelled against him, claiming he has “never committed acts of racism or discrimination, on the contrary, we always treat and invite viewers to our broadcasts and games without worrying about color, belief, gender or social class”.
