Borderlands 3 release date is September 13
Game’s season pass will include four campaign DLC packs
Gearbox Software has announced a Borderlands 3 release date of September 13, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
On PC, the game will be available exclusively through the Epic Games store until April 2020.
Revealed at PAX East in late March, the co-op loot shooter lets players step into the shoes of four Vault Hunters, “each with unique abilities and playstyles, deep skill trees, and tons of personalization options”.
The story sees Moze the Gunner, Amara the Siren, FL4K the Beastmaster and Zane the Operative team up to “stop the fanatical Calypso Twins from uniting the bandit clans and claiming the galaxy’s ultimate power”. The four protagonists can be seen in action in the new trailer below.
The game is available to pre-order in various editions, ranging in price from $59.99 to $249.99 (£49.99 to £249.99). In addition to other bonus content, pricier editions of the game will come with all the extras included in the Borderlands 3 season pass, which features four campaign DLC packs set to be released by September 2020.

A newly released fact sheet for the game reads: “With a new level-sync system, the experience scales for each individual player. That means you can play with anyone at any time online or in split-screen co-op, regardless of your level or mission progress. Take down enemies and challenges as a team, but reap rewards that are yours alone – no one misses out on loot.”
Gearbox Software president and CEO Randy Pitchford said “Borderlands 3 is being crafted not only as a love letter to fans of the series, but also as an ideal entry point for new players to jump-in alone or cooperatively, on or offline”.
Publisher 2K claims the Borderlands franchise has shipped over 41 million units worldwide.
Featuring improved character models, environments, weapons and textures, a remastered version of the original Borderlands released today on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
