Black PS5 controller appears in unverified images
Sony has only announced a white version of DualSense
Unverified images which appear to show a black version of the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller have appeared online.
Several images posted on Twitter and possibly originating from the True-Gaming forum show not only an unannounced DualSense colour variant but also the dimensions of the controller, which measures approximately 180mm wide and 120mm high.
Even if genuine, the images may not necessarily match the final retail product as they could be prototype versions or for a dev kit.
Sony unveiled PlayStation 5‘s DualSense controller in April, calling it “a radical departure” from its previous DualShock pads.
The officially revealed DualSense features a two-toned design with haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a built-in microphone and updates to hand triggers, grips and the light bar.
Sony released new imagery for PS5’s controller and accessories this week, showing the DualSense, PS5 headset, camera and remote from all angles.
It also released new details on PS5’s compatibility with legacy console accessories, confirming that PS4 controllers won’t work with PS5 games. However, DualShock 4 will work with PS4 games via backwards compatibility.
Speciality peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games, Sony said.
