The first post-launch balance update is live. We’re keeping this limited to the 1 gun we’ve gotten the most feedback on, as we continue working on the larger pass for Season 1. https://t.co/UC1heS3j6S

Black Ops Cold War’s first post-launch balance update nerfs the MP5
More weapon tuning to arrive with Season 1 in December
Treyarch has released a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update reducing the effectiveness of the MP5 submachine gun.
The studio said it has reduced the weapon’s base effective damage range by 33% and adjusted the initial recoil.
Large numbers of players have complained about the weapon being overpowered since the shooter’s release on November 13.
Treyarch lead game designer Tony Flame said the studio was limiting the game’s first post-launch balance update to the one weapon, with more to be tuned when Black Ops Cold War Season 1 launches on December 10.
Black Ops Cold War will add multiplayer map Nuketown ’84 on November 24.
Season 1 will include Gunfight 2v2 mode, more multiplayer maps and modes, new weapons, fresh Zombies modes and a classified Warzone experience.
“Despite its enjoyable campaign, Black Ops Cold War feels like an anachronistic package,” reads VGC’s 3/5 Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War review. “The era of one game containing three completely disparate modes feels so long ago in the age of Warzone.”
Activision has claimed Black Ops Cold War set a new record for the highest first-day digital sales in franchise history.
