BioWare suggests Mass Effect fans should temper expectations for N7 Day

BioWare has cautioned fans not to get too excited about its plans for N7 Day on November 7.

The studio established N7 Day in 2012 and it has since become a yearly celebration of the Mass Effect series and its community.

In 2020, BioWare used N7 Day to announce it was working on a new Mass Effect game, as well as Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

In the years since it has used N7 Day to reveal new concept art, provide some development updates, and release a new teaser trailer.

“We hope everyone is enjoying their time in Dragon Age: The Veilguard,” the studio said on X this week. “It’s only a few days until #N7Day and this year will be quieter because of launch. Be sure to check back then for a little fun, though!”

In a recent interview, Dragon Age: The Veilguard creative director John Epler told Rolling Stone there are currently no plans to develop expansions for the game, and that the studio’s full focus has shifted to the next Mass Effect.

Franchise director and executive producer Mike Gamble said last month that the new Mass Effect will “maintain the mature tone of the original trilogy” and have photorealistic visuals “as long as I’m running it”.

It’s been claimed that the next Mass Effect game might not be released until 2029 or later.
