Big Walk has sold more than one million copies, not counting PlayStation Plus downloads

Big Walk publisher Panic has announced that the game has sold more than one million copies.

The news was announced on Panic’s X account. The post reads: “In just six days, over one million of you have bought Big Walk, our co-op adventure about talking and walking.

“We are so grateful that so many of you are spending time with our game. And we deeply appreciate your fanart, your streams, and your moments.”

Developed by House House, the studio behind Untitled Goose Game, Big Walk is a multiplayer-only game that asks players to explore a vast world while solving puzzles and getting into shenanigans with their friends.

The game currently sits at a lofty 92 on Metacritic, and the critical acclaim has clearly translated into success for the indie title. It’s currently placed second on the Steam Top Sellers list, only below the Steam Machine, and top of the Nintendo Switch 2 charts for download-only games.

PS5 is usually the most popular console for game sales, but Big Walk requires PlayStation Plus to play and is included in the PS+ Essential tier for August, meaning practically everyone who’s able to play it already has access to it.

That means the game is very unlikely to have received many sales on the PlayStation platform, and it is not currently available on Xbox, indicating the majority of sales took place on Steam and Nintendo Switch 2. The game includes crossplay functionality, so players can enjoy multiplayer with friends regardless of platform.

It’s not possible to accurately track console players, but Big Walk currently receives more than 30,000 daily concurrent PC users according to SteamDB.
