Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game may not be Xbox exclusive, it’s been claimed
The game was announced in early 2021
Bethesda’s upcoming Indiana Jones game, currently in development at Wolfenstein studio MachineGames, may not be an Xbox exclusive, it’s been claimed.
Speaking on the Xbox Two podcast, Windows Central’s Jez Corden says that he’d heard around a year ago that the game wouldn’t be exclusive to Xbox, despite being developed by the now Microsoft-owned Machine Games.
While discussing the game, Corden’s co-host Rand al Thor says “we don’t know if it’s exclusive,” to which Corden replies: “It isn’t.”
He goes on: “The only information I’ve had on Indiana Jones is that it wasn’t exclusive, but that was a long time ago, maybe something has changed.”
MachineGames’ Indiana Jones, which was announced early last year, is being worked on in collaboration with the newly reformed Lucasfilm Games.
Executive produced by Elder Scrolls and Fallout director Todd Howard, the Indiana Jones game will tell a wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer, Bethesda said.
“It’ll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news,” the company added at the time.
In a separate post on StarWars.com, Lucasfilm said that some clues to the game’s setup could be found in a teaser trailer that was revealed during the announcement.
MachineGames said in a statement: “As huge fans of the franchise, it’s a tremendous honour for us to create a brand-new Indiana Jones game with a completely original story. We’re very excited and can’t wait to share more in the future.”
