Battlefield 5 trailer showcases new multiplayer maps
Chapter 4: Defying the Odds launches on June 27
EA has released fresh details about a handful of new multiplayer maps coming to Battlefield 5, plus a trailer showing them in action.
The latest season of content, Chapter 4: Defying the Odds, kicks off on June 27 with the release of the Al Sundan map. Set in the North African desert, it’s a 64-player offering “built for classic multiplayer action, focusing on big distances, vehicle-based teamplay, and battles across all ranges”.
The second 64-player map, Marita, will follow in July, featuring infantry-focused combat in a rural Greek town and the surrounding mountainside.
August will see the release of two close-quarters maps also focused on infantry combat. Players will be able to destroy an explosives production factory in the Norway-based Lofoten Islands map, while the Provence map is set during the Axis occupation of France.
Arriving in October is Operation Underground. Inspired by Battlefield 3’s Operation Métro map, it features “man-to-man combat across diverse play areas like urban streets, courtyards, the plaza area, service tunnels, train platforms and more”.
Battlefield V is one of six games EA will be showcasing at its EA Play event on Saturday June 8, just before E3 2019 kicks off.
