Hazard Zone seems to be indeed a mix between Escape from Tarkov & Hunt Showdown.

Battlefield 2042’s new Hazard Zone mode will be revealed on Thursday
Debut trailer will air on October 14
DICE will unveil Battlefield 2042’s new Hazard Zone mode this Thursday.
A reveal trailer for Hazard Zone will debut at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST on October 14.
DICE previously described Hazard Zone as “an all-new, high-stakes, squad-based game-type for the Battlefield franchise that is a modern take on the multiplayer experience that is distinctly DICE but very different from All-Out Warfare’s Conquest or Breakthrough modes”.
UPDATE: Activision will reveal Call of Duty Vanguard’s Zombies mode this Thursday at exactly the same time as Hazard Zone is shown for the first time.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: In August, a datamine of Battlefield 2042’s private tech playtest suggested Hazard Zone will be inspired by Battlestate Games’ FPS Escape from Tarkov.
According to details shared by dataminer @Temporyal, the mode will see players battling AI enemies and fighting to reach extraction points without losing their loot.
In Escape from Tarkov, players are assigned an extraction point on the other side of the map and must fight against other players and AI enemies to reach that point and escape with their collected loot.
In addition to these standard extractions, players are also given the opportunity to use optional extraction points but must achieve certain objectives to do so, such as by acquiring a certain piece of loot.
Once extracted, players can store their loot for future matches or sell it to other players. When players die in a match, they lose everything, including the equipment they brought with them.
“Expect to collect intel from data drives & crashed satellites in Hazard Zone,” the Battlefield 2042 dataminer wrote. “After a briefing screen and insertion via Little Bird, it’s up to you to search the area. The danger of losing equipment can be countered with a ‘Loadout Insurance’, one of numerous tactical upgrades.”
They added: “Battlefield Hazard Zone maps seem to feature various points of interest like ammo stations and uplinks.
“Here you can call for a Ranger (Robot Dog) or HDT Storm (ATV). There are also links to a respawn sequence with states like start, pause, resume & abort.
“You might encounter AI soldiers like a patrol using a Jaguar EBRC or HDT Storm in #Battlefield Hazard Zone.
“According to some data, they can get reinforcements and parachute (solo or squads) into the map. AI ‘bosses’ will probably serve as additional objectives & grant rewards.
“You can leave the Hazard Zone by using an extraction zone (landing zones for helicopters which can be claimed & activated). An extraction can also fail if you miss the helicopter.
“Money bag”Hazard Zone currency” is probably the key to expand your weapon, gadget and perk collection…”
DICE has said that this month’s Battlefield 2042 open beta was representative of an older version of the game and players will notice significant improvements when the finished product is released.
“We’ve made amazing progress over the last couple of months, including improvements to the visuals and stability that didn’t quite make it into the Open Beta build,” DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson said last week.
“And we want you all to know that in these final few weeks leading to launch, we’re making huge strides and are super focused on delivering an amazing experience when early access begins on November 12th!”
In mid-September, EA delayed Battlefield 2042’s release date from October 22 to November 19. However, players who choose to pre-order the Battlefield 2042 Gold and Ultimate editions will receive access to the game one week ahead of its general release.
