Battlefield 2042 will add a refreshed scoreboard on Tuesday and voice chat in an April update
New bundle also arriving this week as compensation for Season 1 delay
DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042’s latest patch, which includes updated scoreboard functionality, will be released on March 8.
As well as a refreshed scoreboard, update 3.3 includes various bug fixes, control and keybinding changes, and the release of the Steadfast Exclusive Legendary bundle.
Containing skins, a melee weapon and a player card, the Steadfast bundle is being offered to Battlefield 2042 Gold and Ultimate edition owners, as well as Year 1 Pass holders, as compensation for the game’s first season of live content being delayed.
DICE also said the game’s next update following 3.3 is currently scheduled to be released in early April, when support for voice chat will be introduced.
“It will include a larger set of changes and fixes, as well as the introduction of VOIP functionality for Squads, and the refreshed Scoreboard being available during End of Round,” the studio said.
“We’re also targeting balance changes for weaponry on vehicles, including the MC5 Bolte, alongside an overhaul of Attachment behavior for infantry weapons across the board.”
In a recent blog post, DICE outlined how it’s changing its approach to Battlefield 2042 map design following the game’s disappointing launch.
Based on player feedback, it said it has identified five main issues with the design of the game’s existing maps, which it intends to improve over the coming months.
It also said new Battlefield 2042 maps being developed for future release will be smaller in scale than the game’s existing ones.
