Battlefield 2042 could be about to join Game Pass, listing suggests
The FPS has been flagged up as a Game Pass title, following a similar FIFA 22 listing last week
Battlefield 2042 could soon join the Xbox Game Pass library, according to a store listing.
As spotted by XGP, just like FIFA 22 did last week, Battlefield 2042’s Xbox Store listing has been updated to mark its inclusion in Game Pass and EA Play, which is bundled with Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.
At the time of publishing, neither Battlefield 2042 nor FIFA 22 appear to be accessible via the subscription services.
However, FIFA was announced as a PlayStation Plus title this week, which indicates that publisher EA is ready to make the six-month old titles available on subscription services.
EA recently released Battlefield 2042‘s update 4.0, which brought with it hundreds of bug fixes, as well as the much-requested voice chat feature.
The EA DICE shooter launched in October without what has become an industry-standard feature for multiplayer FPS titles.
Microsoft recently announced a promotion which will see it gift free PC Game Pass trials to non-members who played some of its biggest 2021 game releases.
Anyone who played Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 or Age of Empires IV on PC from release until February 28, 2022, is eligible to receive a three-month trial of PC Game Pass.
However, the offer is only valid to those who have never previously been a Game Pass member on Xbox or PC. So users will need to have played purchased copies of the above games, or Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer mode.
