Baldur’s Gate III revealed for Stadia with trailer
Game also coming to PC from Divinity: Original Sin creator Larian Studios
Google has announced Baldur’s Gate III for Stadia.
Playable single-player or multiplayer, the RPG’s also in development for PC at Belgium-based Larian Studios, creator of the Divinity: Original Sin games.
Developed in collaboration with the Dungeons & Dragons team at Wizards of the Coast, the title’s “based off current D&D mechanics and spells”, according to the official announcement.
It also promises to offer “a rich narrative with unparalleled player freedom, high-stakes decisions, unique companion characters and memorable combat” as players battle to save Baldur’s Gate the Forgotten Realms from a malevolent presence.
Larian Studios creative director Swen Vincke said: “Baldur’s Gate means so much to so many people. It’s a great responsibility but I think we’re ready for it. We’re all about creating reactive, systemic worlds that respect player agency and having a chance to apply our team’s skillset in a universe as rich as Dungeons & Dragons is a lot of fun.
“We’re working very closely with Wizards to bring an unprecedented level of immersion to the realm of Faerun and I can’t wait to show the world what our team cooked up,” he added.
