Baldur’s Gate 3 players advised to manually update their Xbox to combat disappearing saves
Larian says it’s aware of saves being lost following crashes
Larian Studios has advised Baldur’s Gate 3 players to manually update their Xbox Series X/S consoles to combat an issue resulting in saves being lost.
The studio also said on Monday that it has released a small update containing stability fixes for the recently released game.
“We’re aware of the issue of saves disappearing after a crash,” it wrote. “An update is available from Xbox to help with some of these issues, please manually update your Xbox through the system menu.”
After its release was held up by several months due to technical issues, Larian’s celebrated RPG was released for Xbox Series X/S to coincide with last week’s The Game Awards, where the title won six prizes.
Alongside the coveted Game of the Year award, it took home prizes for Best Performance, Best Community Support, Best RPG, Best Multiplayer and Player’s Voice.
Baldur’s Gate 3, which was released digitally for PC in August and for PS5 and Mac the following month, is one of the current generation’s most critically acclaimed titles and has been a big commercial hit too.
Larian announced last month that the game would be getting a physical Deluxe Edition, which will be released in the first quarter of 2024 for Xbox Series X, PS5 and PC, priced at $79.99 / €79.99.
It will include a physical copy of the game, a world map, an original three-disc soundtrack, a Mind Flayer poster, a Deluxe Edition box designed to match the previous games’ ‘big box’ PC editions, 32 stickers and two patches.
