Back 4 Blood’s Children of the Worm DLC is coming this month
The expansion will introduce a new gun-toting preacher
The next major Back 4 Blood expansion, Children of the Worm, will release later this month according to Warner Bros Games and Turtle Rock Studios
Children of the Worm is a new story campaign that “puts players into an epic showdown with a fierce new enemy threat,” according to Turtle Rock. The expansion will introduce a new character, ‘Prophet’ Dan, who is a gun-toting, self-proclaimed preacher of the end times.
The upcoming DLC expansion will release on August 30. Players with the game’s Annual Pass or who bought Back 4 Blood’s Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition will get the expansion for free, but it will also be available to buy separately.
Children of the Worm will also include eight exclusive character skins and 12 exclusive weapon skins, along with new weapons, accessories, and cards.
According to Turtle Rock, as long as at least one player in a party has purchased the Children of the Worm expansion, all players in that party will have access to its playable content.
Back 4 Blood’s last expansion, Tunnels of Terror was released earlier in the year and featured two new playable characters – Sharice, who’s a firefighter with an axe, and Heng, who’s a “tough as nails, no-nonsense restaurateur”.
Last December, the game added a single-player campaign mode. Before the update, VGC’s Back 4 Blood review had criticised the game’s single-player element, calling it “pointless” and “incomplete”.
In other WB Games news, the first season of MultiVersus has been delayed, as has the release of its next playable character.
