Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 raised more than $2.5 million for charity
More than 130 speedruns took place at AGDQ 2025 over the course of a week
The latest Games Done Quick event has now ended, raising more than $2.5 million to fight cancer.
Awesome Games Done Quick took place between January 5-12, and consisted of more than 130 speedruns.
By the time the event ended on Sunday the total amount raised was $2,556,305, with the money going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
As noted on Reddit by Thorebane, who keeps track of stats for Games Done Quick, the organisation has now raised more than $54 million for charity since it started 15 years ago, with more than $26 of this going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
The latest marathon opening on Sunday with a run of the original Pikmin on Switch, which was completed in around an hour.
Among the more than 130 games featured over the course of the week were Portal 2, Astro Bot, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, UFO 50, Metroid Prime, Horizon Forbidden West, Silent Hill 2 and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

The marathon ended early on Sunday morning with a four-player race on SNES classic Super Metroid, with a map randomizer making it harder for the competitors.
As ever, the show also featured a number of offbeat challenges, including one player defeating the Elden Ring bosses using a saxophone controller, and another playing Crazy Taxi while accompanied by a live band.
