Avengers game finally shown off in 19-minute gameplay video

Square Enix title is playable at Gamescom

Square Enix has released a 19-minute gameplay video for Marvel’s Avengers game.

The super hero title is currently on show at Gamescom with a hands-on demo, featuring playable Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow and Thor.

Development is being led by Crystal Dynamics, with support provided by Eidos Montreal, Crystal Northwest and Nixxes.

Set five years after a deadly accident during the opening of the Avengers’ west coast headquarters in San Francisco, the game will allow players to team up online and battle new evils across years of new content.

“We’ve assembled world-class developers from across the industry to bring players on an unforgettable journey,” said Crystal dynamis head of studio Ron Rosenberg.

The game features an all-star voice cast, including Troy Baker, Nolan North, Jeff Schine, Laura Bailey and Travis Willingham.

The title is expected to receive a large amount of supporting content going forward, a key tenet of the popular games as a service model.

Marvel’s Avengers will release for PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC on May 15, 2020.
