August’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles have been revealed
Portal Knights, Override: Mech City Brawl, MX Unleashed and Red Faction II
Microsoft has announced August’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles.
On Xbox One, subscribers will be able to download Portal Knights (normally $19.99/£15.99) for free throughout August.
Override: Mech City Brawl (normally $29.99/£24.99) will then be available as a free download from August 16 to September 15.
On Xbox 360, MX Unleashed (normally $14.99/£11.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members from August 1-15.
And from August 16 until the end of the month, Red Faction II (normally $14.99/£11.99) will be free to download.
As part of July’s Games with Gold line-up, members can download WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship and Juju until the end of this month, while Dunk Lords is free until August 15.

Microsoft recently stopped selling 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, fuelling speculation that the long-running service could be repackaged or phased out to coincide with the Xbox Series X launch this holiday season.
Xbox Live active users approached 90 million and Xbox Game Pass subscribers topped 10 million during the company’s third financial quarter ended in March 2020.
Providing an update on the services during Microsoft’s fourth quarter earnings call this month, CEO Satya Nadella said Xbox Game Pass “is seeing record subscriber growth across both console and PC” and that there are now “nearly 100 million Xbox Live players around the world”.
Microsoft will launch Project xCloud in September and the game steaming service will be available via its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Priced at $14.99/£10.99 per month, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate combines Xbox Live Gold membership with Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.
