Atlus is teasing 7 Persona announcements for its 25th anniversary
A new teaser website says the reveals will start in September
Atlus is teasing seven new announcements to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Persona series.
The seven projects – which may not all be games – are listed as question marks on a new Persona 25th Anniversary website.
According to the site, the first project will be revealed in September, and the last project will be revealed in Autumn 2022. Dates aren’t given for the others.
A statement on the site says that Atlus is preparing a number of surprises to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary with players.
“In 2021, the Persona series exceeded the cumulative worldwide sales of 15 million units. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all those who have watched over and supported us over the years,” it reads.
“In September, the Persona series will finally celebrate its 25th anniversary. To express our gratitude to all of you, we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Persona series for one year from September 2021 to next fall 2022.
“We will be announcing various anniversary events such as 25th anniversary goods, various events, collaborations, and of course game information. We will be announcing a variety of special events in the near future. Please stay tuned.”
Last year Sega singled out the PC version of Persona 4 Golden as one of the surprise successes of its Q1 financial results.
The Steam release was specifically highlighted as a key success by the publisher, with sales of the PC version said to be “significantly higher than expected.” The title – released for Steam in June – was previously only available on PS Vita.
