Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update will fix crashes, new weapon and outfit DLC ‘revealed’
Title update 1.2.0.1 launches on Friday; game files reference upcoming weapons and more
Ubisoft will release a new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla patch on Friday designed to solve crashes players have been experiencing since the game’s second season went live last week.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Season 2’s Ostara content takes place in a dedicated area of Ravensthorpe. Following its release with update 1.2.0 on March 18, players had reported crashes in and around this area.
The following day, Ubisoft said it had rolled out a server-side hotfix to address the rise in crashing near Ravensthorpe. Settlement decorations were also temporarily removed and new Ostara Festival quests were disabled.
Ubisoft said today that this Friday’s update will “address the crashes faced by players since the release of the Ostara Festival. Settlement decorations and decoration quests will be reactivated with this update”.
Title update 1.2.0.1 will be released at 12pm GMT / 8am ET / 5am PT on March 26.
In related news, a datamine by Assassin’s Creed content creator j0nathan has seemingly unearthed new details about upcoming Valhalla DLC.
What appear to be Achievement/Trophy lists for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s story expansions reveal new weapons and more coming to the game over the coming months.
Launching on April 29, 2021, the Wrath of the Druids expansion will see players travel to Ireland to uncover the mysteries of an ancient druidic cult. One challenge will task players with defeating 100 enemies using a Sickle.
A second Assassin’s Creed Valhalla story expansion, The Siege of Paris, will retell the Viking invasion of France in 845 AD when it arrives in the summer of 2021. Here, players will be challenged to defeat 100 enemies using a Short Sword.
j0nathan also found references to players being able to wear Basim’s outfit soon.
Fellow content creator JorRaptor subsequently claimed Ubisoft confirmed the upcoming introduction of one-handed swords in an interview he had conducted earlier this week.
JorRaptor was also reportedly told Basim’s outfit is coming to the game “sooner than you think”.
