Armored Core 6 gameplay video shows 13 minutes of the game in action
From Software’s latest title will be released next month
From Software and Bandai Namco have released 13 minutes of gameplay footage from Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon.
The video shows some of the game’s main mechanics, including the ‘Assault Boost’ ability, which is used for traversal and combat.
It also shows how players can use vertical catapults to launch high into the air and take the action to the skies.
The game’s ‘stagger’ mechanic is also shown, in which players can damage the ‘Attitude Control System’ of tougher enemies to put them temporarily out of action and leave them exposed.
The video also gives another summary of the game’s plot. “In a future where interstellar travel is commonplace, our story begins in a distant star system, on the fictional planet Rubicon 3,” it says.
“Our protagonist, an independent mercenary, is smuggled into Rubison in search of a mysterious new substance known as Coral.
“Huge, multi-layered stages will let players make the most of their Armored Core’s exceptional movement and attack capabilities.”
The video can be shown below (the countdown ends at 14:05):
Announced at The Game Awards last December, the sixth instalment in the series marks the first new Armored Core game in more than a decade, the last being Armored Core 5 back in 2012.
In April, publisher Bandai Namco released the first gameplay trailer for Armored Core 6, also confirming that the game will be released on August 25.
Promising “fast-paced battles, in-depth customisation, and thrilling boss fights”, the mech action game is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
