April’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles revealed

Microsoft has announced April’s free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

On Xbox One, members will be able to download sci-fi RPG The Technomancer (normally $39.99/£34.99) for free during the month of April. And open-world action adventure game Outcast – Second Contact (normally $39.99/£35.99) will be available as a free download from April 16 to May 15.

On Xbox 360, Star Wars Battlefront II (normally $9.99/£8.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members from April 1 to April 15. From April 16 until the end of the month, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (normally $19.99/£8.99) will be free to download.

April’s Games with Gold line-up was revealed by Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hryb in a post on his Major Nelson blog. The games are also shown off in the following trailer.

As part of the current Games with Gold line-up, members can download Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for free until the end of March, while Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is free until April 15.

Generally, four Games with Gold titles are released each month — two Xbox One games, and two Xbox 360 titles playable on the newer console via backwards compatibility. Microsoft claims the service offers up to $700/£500 in free games per year.
