Apple Arcade will reportedly cost $5 per month

Apple Arcade will reportedly cost $4.99 following a one-month free trial period.

According to 9to5Mac, the planned pricing details are available in one of the APIs used by the App Store app.

Apple Arcade will allow access to all members in a family sharing account, the report adds.

While pricing plans could be subject to change, the site claims it’s likely they’ll be officially confirmed on September 10, when Apple is expected to hold an event to reveal its latest iPhones.

Announced in March and scheduled to launch this autumn, Apple Arcade will initially house over 100 “new and exclusive games” for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, with more titles set to be added regularly.

The company has reportedly committed to spending some $500 million on the first wave of Apple Arcade games.

Confirmed Apple Arcade titles include The Chinese Room’s Little Orpheus, Mistwalker’s Fantasian, Revolution Software’s Beyond a Steel Sky, Klei Entertainment’s Hot Lava, Lego Brawls, Sonic Racing, Frogger in Toy Town, and Giant Squid’s The Pathless.

It was recently revealed that Google is testing a new app and game subscription service called Play Pass. The company confirmed the news after screenshots of it emerged, revealing details including a tentative monthly price of $4.99.
