Cinematic video officially reveals Revenant for Apex Legends Season 4

Much-leaked character is officially joining the battle royale

Repsawn has officially unveiled Revenant as Apex Legends’ next character joining in Season 4.

The robot assassin has been teased and leaked for several weeks, including a marketing stunt involving a faux Legend who was killed off.

In a new cinematic released on Thursday, Revenant’s backstory is revealed.

“Revenant used to be human. He was the greatest hitman the Mercenary Syndicate ever had,” writer Gabe Duran told the PlayStation Blog.

“He used to look in the mirror and see his human face looking back. But time changes everything, and when his programming finally failed, he saw what he had become at the hands of the Mercenary Syndicate and Hammond Robotics: a walking nightmare of steel and vestigial flesh.”

According to datamined information, Revenant’s powers could include the ability to tag enemy players and then reveal their location on demand.

Apex Legends Season 4 will start on February 4.

Revenant could also be able to fire a projectile which temporarily disables enemy tactical abilities.

When Season 4 begins on February 4, players will be able to access the new “medium-to-long range” Sentinel sniper rifle.

The World’s Edge map will also see a literal shake-up as the Planet Harvester arrives to mine precious resources.

During its last earnings call in October 2019, publisher EA said Apex Legends had attracted 70 million players.

Given the success of the battle royale game, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen implied Respawn was unlikely to return to Titanfall 3 in the near future.

Further plans for the game and updated player numbers could be provided when EA reports its third quarter earnings on January 30.
