Apex Legends season 3 trailers show new map, legend and weapon
Meltdown will also introduce a new battle pass on October 1
Respawn has released two new trailers for Apex Legends season 3, which kicks off on Tuesday October 1.
Titled Meltdown, season 3 will introduce a brand-new map called World’s Edge, “where molten heat and chemical ice collide”, which is shown off in the gameplay trailer above.
It will also include a new legend called Crypto and a fresh weapon, the Charge Rifle, plus additional skins and gear via the game’s latest battle pass.
Apex Legends season 2, titled Battle Charge, launched in July, helping the battle royale game attract 8-10 million players on a weekly basis, according to EA CEO Andrew Wilson.
In July he also told investors Apex Legends season 3 was “shaping up to be even bigger” than season 2, which included a highly requested, time-limited solos mode.
During the same earnings call, EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen said the publisher hopes to have a 10-year run with Apex Legends.
The company expects to bring the series to mobile and the Chinese market during its financial year beginning in April 2020.
