Apex Legends reveals first Season 7 details including a new hero and map

Ascension launches on November 4

Respawn has revealed the first official details of Apex Legends Season 7, which is titled Ascension.

Launching on November 4, Ascension will introduce new Legend Horizon and the game’s third major map, Olympus.

Horizon is an astrophysicist with a newfound mastery of gravity, while Olympus is a lush floating city in the clouds.

Season 7 will also introduce a vehicle called the Trident, which is big enough to transport an entire squad, and a new social feature called Clubs, which will enable players to build communities.

Respawn announced last week that Season 7 will launch alongside the Steam version of Apex Legends, but that the Switch version of the game has been delayed to 2021.

“For those who game on the Nintendo Switch, we’re still hard at work on the port, but in order to do justice to the game and make it into the great experience Switch players deserve, our team needs more time,” it explained. “This year has brought on unexpected new challenges, to put it mildly, and we don’t want to rush anything out.

“Switch owners can expect to get their hands on Apex Legends next year. And of course, when Apex Legends does launch on Switch, it’ll come with support for cross-platform play, our latest seasonal content, and full feature parity with the other versions of the game.”

Also arriving on November 4 is the Apex Legends Champion Edition. Priced at $39.99, it includes all Legends up to Season 7, seven exclusive legendary items, plus 1,000 Apex Coins.
