Apex Legends has been rated for Switch and a ‘Champion Edition’ of the game has been announced

Apex Legends has been classified for Nintendo Switch, suggesting its release could be imminent.

Publisher EA announced in June that it planned to bring Respawn’s free-to-play battle royale game to Switch and Steam in the fall/autumn of 2020.

The game has now been classified T (Teen) by the US Entertainment Software Rating Board.

Separately, EA announced Apex Legends Champion Edition on Tuesday. Coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC via Origin when Season 7 launches, it includes “over $100 worth of exclusive cosmetics”, according to the publisher.

Apex Legends Champion Edition will be priced at $39.99 and include the following:

  • 9 character unlocks (all Legends up to Season 7): Caustic, Mirage, Octane, Wattson, Crypto, Revenant, Loba, Rampart, and the Season 7 Legend
  • 7 Exclusive Legendary items:
    • “Risen Queen” Wraith skin
    • “Forged Knight” Revenant skin
    • “Hallowed Spirit” Crypto skin
    • “Curse of the Awaken” Triple Take skin
    • “Slayer’s Lancer” Flatline skin
    • “Jaded Myth” Sentinel skin
    • “Emperor Nessy XIV” Gun Charm
  • 1,000 Apex Coins

Apex Legends launched cross-play support in beta form this month alongside its latest in-game event, The Aftermarket Collection Event. The feature will be supported on Switch and Steam too.
